It looks like everyone is off to a good start with the wiki. The only thing I've done so far (besides a few comments) is move a few things around, just so that all of the rules are under the "Style Rules Table of Contents" page and so all the essays are under the "Style Rules Essays Table of Contents." It will help keep things reasonably organized.
Don't forget two important parts of peer review and this assignment:
Your rule needs to be 150 words or less! For evrything, including examples! I will be suggesting revisions and such on rules longer than that.
For peer review, pick a mix of students from both classes, and review five of your classmates' essays. If you visit someone's essay and you can see that there are already five different people discussing and reviewing the essay, then pick a different essay! The goal here is to spread around the peer review so that everyone gets the same level of feedback. You have until Friday of this week to complete peer review on the wiki.
Three other things for now. First, as you can see, I've recorded a new weekly update video for the class. (I'll also be posting this over on emuonline, but since folks are doing stuff here, I thought I would go ahead and post it here as well). This video is mostly my reflections overall about the "Invent your own technology" project and about the process for revising any of the four major writing projects this term.
Second, by Friday of this week, each of you needs to send me an email about how you think you are doing in terms of participation for the first half of the semester. I will send everyone an email reminder about this, but basically, I'm asking you to tell me in a brief (100-200 words tops) email message what sort of grade you ought to get for participation and why. You might want to review the course syllabus, which is where I detail what parts of the class count as participation.
By the way, the "mid-term" for our class in terms of the participation grade and also in terms of the blog assignments will be the end of this week. So be sure to finish up those last blog posts in the next few days.
Third, I will be spending most of my time this week visiting the wiki and also updating the emuonline site for the next major writing project, the visual rhetoric/comic project. So stay tuned for those changes as they come online.
