When writing a paragraph, one should use a flowing variety of sentences. Paragraphs need variety!



Recall that there are three types of sentences (not just two):
  • Simple
  • Compound
  • Complex


It's also important not to forget about all the different useful tools you can use throughout your writing in order to achieve this:
  • Commas
  • Semicolons
  • Colons
  • Periods
  • Exclamation Points
  • Question Marks
  • Parentheses
  • Brackets
  • Dashes
  • Quotes

One way to approach this would be to actually narrow in on one element of sentence variety and then follow that through with some examples. But right now, it seems to me it needs some kind of example.
